Good morning!
Hello my friends,
Good morning and happy New Moon in Scorpio. As I sit at my desk savoring my first cup of coffee, the anticipation of today’s snow fills me with joy. Outside, the little critters scurry about, animated by the coming storm, while soft ambient music weaves through the quiet room. To call this scene idyllic would barely capture the profound sense of peace and gratitude I feel in this moment. The energy of the New Moon in Scorpio invites transformation and deep reflection, and I welcome it fully, grounded in this serene, magical morning.
The new moon in Scorpio invites a powerful period of transformation and deep introspection. As the dark moon phase begins in this intense water sign, it encourages shedding old emotional wounds and embracing profound inner growth. This is an ideal time to set intentions around healing, uncovering hidden truths, and cultivating emotional resilience. Scorpio’s energy supports diving beneath the surface, allowing for meaningful breakthroughs that lead to authentic empowerment and renewal. Harnessing this potent lunar cycle can catalyze significant personal evolution and spiritual clarity.
This new moon carries a profound energy that is particularly potent for Aquarians, Scorpios, and Cancers, offering a transformative push into a brighter phase of life. It acts as a key, unlocking the door to our future and destinies, encouraging us to release old patterns and embrace renewal. For Aquarians, this moon inspires innovative breakthroughs; for Scorpios, deep emotional clarity and rebirth; and for Cancers, nurturing growth and heartfelt alignment. Together, these energies converge to guide us toward better days, filled with purpose and potential.
I am particularly excited because my chart is a unique blend of Scorpio and Cancer placements, complemented by an Aquarian Sun. This past year has been a profound journey of lessons and transformations, urging me to delve into the depths of emotional resilience and intuitive insight. The intensity of Scorpio and the nurturing energy of Cancer have amplified these shifts, while Aquarian energy has encouraged innovation and self-liberation. With the arrival of this new moon, I anticipate a much-needed breath of relief, a moment to reset and embrace newfound clarity and empowerment as I move forward.
Next on the docket for me is embracing the art of gratitude with intention and presence. After a year so intensely packed with the demands of new motherhood, the evolution of my business, planning a big move to Oregon, managing two households, and committing to personal growth and fitness, I realize how seldom I’ve stopped to truly honor the blessings in my life. Moving forward, I want to balance the drive for improvement with deep appreciation for the progress, strength, and love that surround me every day. This shift is not just about acknowledging what’s good—it’s about cultivating a grounded sense of peace and fulfillment amidst life’s beautiful chaos.
Ironically enough, this Mercury in retrograde has truly worked in my favor during this cycle. On the very day Mercury began its backward dance, I paused and reflected, realizing how profoundly I’ve manifested incredible opportunities and growth over the past few years. Rather than the usual chaos often blamed on this transit, I found clarity and affirmation, as old patterns shifted and long-standing intentions began to materialize with renewed focus. This cycle has been a testament to the power of deliberate manifestation, even when the cosmos seems to challenge us, showing that sometimes, the retrograde is less about disruption and more about deep, transformative alignment.
I have begun a simple gratitude practice where each day I intentionally acknowledge three to five things I am grateful for. This small but consistent ritual has grounded me, aligning perfectly with the lessons from the self-improvement courses I’ve committed to completing. By doing the actual work—rather than passively consuming content—I have noticed a shift in my awareness and sense of presence. Additionally, I’ve been breathing deeper and more consciously, allowing a greater flow of calm and clarity into my daily experience. This combination of gratitude and mindful breathing cultivates a subtle but profound transformation in my overall wellbeing.
Lastly, I have to admit I have fully gotten bitten by the holiday bug. For many years, I was adamant about celebrating each holiday strictly in its designated month, holding firm to the calendar as if it were a sacred rule. I spent years embodying that fiery, angry pagan who felt the need to vocally defend their beliefs against Christmas, often to the point of alienating myself and unintentionally dimming my own appreciation for the season’s decorations and spirit. But over time, I’ve found balance—allowing myself to embrace the joy and magic of the holidays without compromising my authentic spiritual practice, discovering that celebration and reverence can coexist beautifully.
I still don't like to celebrate Thanksgiving, so my husband and I have come up with a compromise that honors both of our traditions. Since he enjoys the classic Thanksgiving festivities and I observe Mabon, the autumnal harvest feast, we have blended elements from each to create a unique celebration that feels meaningful to us both. Our day now includes the gratitude and togetherness of Thanksgiving alongside the intentional reflection and honoring of nature’s cycles characteristic of Mabon. This fusion allows us to appreciate the season’s abundance through a lens that respects both our values and brings deeper connection to our shared table.
Getting back to being bitten by the holiday bug felt like a gentle awakening amidst a challenging season of transformation. As I put away the last of the Halloween decorations and tidied the house, a familiar spark of excitement kindled within me. The thought of draping the tree with lights, playing festive music, and filling the space with warmth and magic brought a much-needed lift to my spirit. In the midst of life’s complexities, embracing these seasonal rituals became a form of self-care—a reminder that even in times of change, there is joy and light to be found in the simple act of celebration.
So I pulled everything holiday out of storage and decorated our home. It is wonderful and cozy. It is happy and festive. And then as I sat on the couch nursing our daughter it came to me. I was super grateful for these moments. The baby was nursing, my husband was putzing around in his office and the dogs were cuddled at my feet. In that quiet, simple present, the room felt wrapped in warmth—not just from the decorations, but from the hum of daily life quietly unfolding. It was a sacred pause, a reminder that magic often lives in ordinary, tender moments of togetherness. This started my current gratitude marathon.
So wherever you are on your gratitude journey, know that you aren’t alone. Cultivating gratitude is a gradual process, often unfolding with the gentle rhythms of time and experience. It’s not about rushing to feel thankful in every moment but allowing those feelings to naturally emerge as you grow and heal. Trust that the moments of clarity and appreciation will come to you when you’re ready, each step bringing you closer to a deeper sense of peace and connection. This journey is uniquely yours, yet shared by many who walk the path toward a more mindful and fulfilled life.
Much love and big hugs,
Rebecca
