Searching for a life coach…my journey to the world of coaching

Hello my friends,

Hello and happy Thursday. As we move through the week, Thursday offers a moment to pause and reflect on the progress made while setting intentional energy for the days ahead. It’s a perfect time to align your goals with purpose and to invite clarity into your path. Embrace the potential this day holds, cultivating calm focus and mindful action as you approach the weekend.

A recent question I received about life coaching reminded me of the transformative journey that led me here. Becoming a life coach was not an overnight decision but a path shaped by years of personal growth, spiritual exploration, and a deep desire to empower others. My journey began with a commitment to understanding the complexities of the human spirit, combined with professional training in divination and holistic practices. Through integrating these insights, I discovered the unique ability to guide individuals toward clarity, purpose, and healing. Life coaching, for me, is both an art and a science—a sophisticated blend of intuition and strategy designed to unlock potential and foster meaningful change.

Here’s my story…

First let’s talk about Hello Dolly!

When I was younger, my father put on Hello, Dolly! for me, and it was an instant love affair. The vibrant charm of Dolly Levi captivated me beyond mere entertainment; she embodied confidence, transformation, and heartfelt connection.

That character’s wit and wisdom planted a seed in me, one that would grow into a lifelong passion for guiding others through change and self-discovery. Even now, I credit that movie with igniting the spark that led me to become a life coach, dedicated to helping people rewrite their own stories with intention and grace.

I knew in my heart that I was destined to help people just like Dolly did in that iconic movie. She seemed to have a card for anything and everything, a symbol of her profound ability to offer guidance and solutions tailored to every situation. At first glance, the film portrays her primarily as a matchmaker, but if you pay close attention to the beginning, it’s clear that her role goes far beyond that—she helps with everything from furniture arrangements to alleviating social anxiety. In essence, Dolly embodies what it truly means to be a life coach: supporting individuals in multiple facets of their lives, helping them find balance, clarity, and confidence along the way. This realization cemented my own path as a professional committed to guiding others through their personal journeys.

It wasn’t until I was 25 and endured a devastating breakup that I discovered the transformative power of self-improvement books and met my very first life coach. That painful chapter forced me to confront wounds I had long ignored and ignited a thirst for growth and healing. Through the guidance of expertly crafted words and personalized coaching, I began to reclaim my sense of self, developing clarity, resilience, and a deeper understanding of my own worth. This pivotal moment became the foundation for my journey.

In the year of my personal coaching sessions, I experienced profound results that went far beyond healing from my past relationship. The journey unearthed deep insights into my family dynamics, revealing patterns I hadn’t fully acknowledged before. Through our work together, I gained clarity about my true desires and life’s purpose, transforming uncertainty into focused intention. Over the course of the 12 months I committed to these sessions, every facet of my life was touched—emotionally, mentally, and spiritually—laying a foundation for lasting growth and empowerment.

On my 27th birthday, a profound clarity settled within me—I knew I had to return to school and devote myself entirely to becoming the best life coach I could be. This decision was fueled by the immense freedom I had discovered through my own journey, a liberation I was determined to share with others. My goal was to guide individuals toward their own transformative awakenings, empowering them to break free from limitations and step confidently into a life of purpose and fulfillment.

I have immersed myself in a diverse range of life coaching certifications, spanning lifestyle, motivational, career, relationships, and health coaching. This comprehensive approach allows me to offer holistic guidance, addressing the multifaceted challenges my clients face. Each certification has deepened my understanding of human potential and resilience, equipping me with specialized tools to empower individuals in crafting balanced and fulfilling lives. By integrating these varied coaching styles, I create personalized strategies that honor the complexity of each unique journey.

From ages 28 to 32, I achieved significant milestones in Atlanta that deeply shaped my coaching journey. I provided guidance and support to clients within a thriving spiritual center, creating a foundation of trust and transformation. Concurrently, I managed a spa where I integrated my coaching and intuitive reading services, blending wellness with personal growth. Most notably, I founded an empowerment group that grew to include over 9,000 women, fostering a powerful community dedicated to strength, healing, and upliftment. This period was instrumental in refining my approach and expanding the reach of my work.

Then I decided to make a dream come true and move myself to Colorado, drawn by its majestic mountains and the energy that seemed to pulse through the air. The decision was both a personal and spiritual turning point, a deliberate step toward embracing change and aligning my life with the natural rhythms that inspire my work as a witch, divination guide, and life coach. Colorado’s vibrant, mystical landscape offered the perfect sanctuary for deepening my practice, expanding my intuition, and fostering the authentic connections that are at the heart of my journey and vocation.

When I moved to Colorado at 33, I felt truly in my highest power. The elevation seemed to lift not only my spirit but the depth of my practice, allowing me to thrive in ways I had only dreamed of before. Within that vibrant landscape, I began to build a community rooted in authenticity and shared intention, a sanctuary where my work as a witch, divination guide, and life coach could flourish. For the first year, I lived with the profound certainty that I had finally achieved what I sought in life—a harmonious alignment of purpose, passion, and connection that felt both grounding and expansive.

In my second summer, I met my now husband and was even more convinced that this move was meant to be. I knew the universe conspired to bring us together at just the right moment. Every conversation, every shared smile felt like a sign, deepening my sense of purpose and belonging. It was not just a chance encounter but a pivotal chapter confirming that this new path held everything I had been seeking—love, growth, and the perfect alignment of fate.

Then it happened—almost one year to the day after I moved here, my father was diagnosed with cancer. This revelation shifted the very foundation of my world, altering priorities, reshaping perspectives, and demanding a resilience I hadn’t anticipated. The certainty of life’s fragility became starkly clear, compelling me to navigate not only the emotional turbulence but also the spiritual complexities of healing and hope. In that moment, everything changed, and with it, the path I thought I was on transformed into something far more profound and urgent.

The following few months after that initial diagnosis were the most traumatic experience I think I have ever had to endure. Each day felt like walking through an endless storm, where uncertainty and fear clung to every moment. The weight of the unknown pressed heavily on my spirit, challenging not only my physical resilience but also my emotional fortitude. It was during this harrowing time that I discovered the depths of my own strength, learning to navigate pain with grace and seeking light even in the darkest hours. This crucible reshaped my perspective, ultimately fostering a profound connection to healing, self-awareness, and the subtle powers that guide us through life’s most difficult trials.

When my father passed, I felt as though I had lost everything—except, of course, my amazing husband, the unwavering anchor in my storm. I surrendered any flicker of happiness I once held and plunged into the darkest depression I have ever known. We lost our apartment and found ourselves living in our car for a time; I abandoned my coaching practice and all my carefully built achievements. We moved to the East Coast, crashing on couches, then later to California, where we shared an apartment with painfully toxic people. Each of these hardships carved a path for growth, molding resilience and self-awareness within me, yet despite the lessons learned, the darkness still loomed heavily over every step of the journey.

Even though I put everything on pause, I still held tightly to the dream, refusing to let go of it. In the stillness of that pause, the vision only grew clearer—the flame within me undiminished by silence or delay. I understood that sometimes, stepping back isn't surrender but a deliberate act of preservation, allowing the dream to breathe, evolve, and gather strength. Holding fast became an act of quiet rebellion against doubt and distraction, a promise to myself that when the moment was right, I would move forward with unwavering purpose.

We finally found ourselves back in Colorado, a place that felt like home once more, and began rebuilding our lives with renewed purpose. Through hard work and unwavering determination, we embraced the challenges ahead, knowing that our commitment and resilience would guide us toward success. Every step forward was a testament to our strength and belief that, with persistence, we could create the life we envisioned.

We found jobs, an apartment we could afford, and I slowly began putting my services out there again. It was a deliberate, measured process—reestablishing myself as a professional witch and divination guide took patience and care. Each new client was a step toward reclaiming the life I envisioned, blending practical stability with the intuitive work I’m passionate about. Balancing financial necessities with spiritual guidance, I crafted a space where both could thrive, nurturing growth not only in my business but in myself.

Then we were hit with another bomb—the pandemic began, and my husband lost his job. I had to put my services on hold once again and fully immerse myself in my retail job just to keep us afloat. The uncertainty was overwhelming, yet it forced me to tap into deep reserves of resilience and adaptability. It was a challenging period of suspension and survival, where every day required unwavering commitment to stability, even as my passion for witchcraft and guiding others was temporarily sidelined.

The pandemic, like it did for so many across the States, hit us hard—financially and emotionally. We found ourselves unable to renew our lease, forcing us to leave behind the familiar and seek refuge with friends in Maine. That period of uncertainty, though challenging, provided a crucial respite. It was a time of healing and reflection that ultimately gave us the strength to return west and resettle in Colorado Springs. There, amid the foothills and renewed community, our lives gradually regained momentum, and our dreams began to bloom once more.

During this whole time, I also signed up for a life coach again. This amazing woman guided me through the complexities of both my personal and professional life with unwavering support and wisdom. Her insight and encouragement were instrumental in helping me stay centered, allowing me to keep my dreams and goals alive even when challenges threatened to overshadow them. Through her guidance, I found clarity and renewed motivation, transforming obstacles into opportunities for growth.

In the past few years, I have been incredibly fortunate to hold an amazing job that not only provided stability but helped us rise above challenges, allowing us to truly get back on our feet. We lived in a stunning apartment that felt like home, and I even fulfilled a long-held dream by purchasing a charming little cabin nestled in the woods. During this time, I married the love of my life and was blessed with our little miracle child, enriching my life in ways I could never have imagined. Now, with all these foundations firmly in place, I am ready and confident to return to coaching, bringing renewed passion and wisdom to guide others on their journeys.

Throughout all of this, I’ve come to realize that my passion for life coaching remains unwavering. I understand now more than ever that if something is truly meant to be, it will unfold in its own time. Life is inevitably filled with obstacles, challenges that test our resolve and resilience. However, it is ultimately up to us how we choose to navigate the complexities of our journeys. With a little guidance and support, we can overcome these hurdles and move steadily toward achieving all of our dreams, transforming each setback into a stepping stone for growth and fulfillment.

With that said, my Coaching services are now back up and running, ready to guide you through transformative personal journeys with clarity and intention. Whether you seek guidance in manifesting your goals, honing your intuitive abilities, or overcoming obstacles, I am here to provide tailored support grounded in both practical wisdom and spiritual insight. Together, we will cultivate a path of empowerment, balance, and purpose, ensuring you move forward with confidence and grace.

Rebecca
